The SKF 6204 C3 Steel Cage crankshaft bearing and seal kit is a complete crankshaft bearing and seal kit for bottom-end rebuilds for Derbi engines. It includes two precision crankshaft bearings and a pair of crank seals.

Crankshaft bearings are one of the most critical components in any engine. They support the crankshaft at extremely high RPM while maintaining precise alignment under constant load, heat, and vibration. As they wear over time, they can cause crankshaft play, loss of compression stability, increased friction, and in severe cases, serious engine damage. For this reason, replacing crankshaft bearings during every engine rebuild is strongly recommended.

SKF is a world-leading bearing manufacturer with over a century of engineering experience. The company supplies bearings for OEM automotive production, industrial machinery, aerospace applications, and high-performance motorsport use. SKF bearings are known for exceptional manufacturing precision, consistent quality control, and long service life under demanding operating conditions, making them a trusted choice for both OEM-style and performance engine builds.

C3 Tolerance
The C3 internal clearance is the factory-specified tolerance for Derbi crankshaft applications. This clearance allows for proper expansion as the engine reaches operating temperature, ensuring stable running clearances under heat and load. C3 bearings are typically used in stock and lightly modified engines, providing a balance of durability, smooth operation, and OEM-level reliability.

Crank seals are equally important as the bearings themselves. They maintain crankcase pressure by sealing both ends of the crankshaft, ensuring correct fuel-air mixture behavior in a 2-stroke engine. Worn or reused seals can cause air leaks, unstable tuning, poor starting, lean running conditions, and potential engine damage.

Both crankshaft bearings and seals should always be replaced during a full engine rebuild. Reusing old components compromises the integrity of the bottom end, even if other engine parts are renewed or upgraded.

This kit provides a reliable, OEM-spec foundation for rebuilding the engine’s crankshaft support and sealing system with proven SKF quality and long-term durability for both stock and mildly tuned applications.
